Welcoming a few buddies to Pattaya this week

About 5,000 U.S. Navy sailors and Marines from the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group are scheduled to arrive in Pattaya for a rest and recreation port call.

• Branch: U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps personnel (not Army).

• Dates: Scheduled to arrive around September 2 for a five-day visit.

• Location: Docking via the eastern seaboard near Laem Chabang Port.

• Reason: Rest and recovery following an extended deployment in the Middle East
